Daka Bio-industries produces various products that under veterinary legislation may be used in biogas plants. A common feature of these products is that they are all based on category 2 material as defined in Regulation (EC) No. 1774/2002.

The products fall within the following categories:

- animal fat
- meat and bone meal

All biogas plants must have a self supervision programme covering the veterinary conditions. The programme must meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) No 1774/2002 and must be approved by the Regional Veterinary and Food Control Centre.

With the exception of fat, animal by-products contain relatively high levels of nitrogen and phosphorus, which will form part of the degasified biomass. The heavy metal content of animal by-products is extremely low.
